When Gunnar Long is transported into the first fully-immersive virtual MMORPG, he finds himself in a new world filled with magic, mystery and adventure.

No more 9-to-5 job. No more studio apartment. No more reality TV.

Finally, he's in a place where he can call home, a place with people he can call friends.

But as more people want to trade their real world lives to get inside Eden's Gate, the government of the outside world wants the "game" shut down at all costs.

Gunnar must learn to survive, grow in power and find a way to send a message back to his old home.

"We're fine. We're alive. Eden's Gate is real."

Eden's Gate is a LitRPG adventure.

Eden Gate The Reborn A LitRPG Adventure eBook Edward Brody Matias Trabold

Other than the anime Sword Art Online, this is my first book on that genre. I really tried to read the novels based on the anime, because I enjoy it so much the 1st season. Now I discovered Edward Brody, and let me tell you, I'm gonna stick to it with him on this one.
There's action, there's progression and it throws enough deep on delicate subjects and themes, to make your time investment worth it.
It's a first person narrator, direct, and things happens fast, and there's consequences to one's action. Something that the author warn's you in the introduction. It's not about scaling power and being indestructible, is about a young kid with social problems trying to decide what is going to become in the future.
I really beat a personal record reading this book. I was on a hospital waiting for my wife to deliver our 3rd kid, and in one sleepless night I finish the whole book an purchase the 2nd. That was yesterday and I'm at 80% of the 2nd book.

Well done, Mr. Brody!

Eden Gate The Reborn A LitRPG Adventure eBook Edward Brody Matias Trabold Reviews

This book reads like a very promising early draft. The ideas, characters and events are present but not fully flushed out. As an example when the main character enters a tavern looking for his friend the scene is described enough to allow you to visualize the environment but not enough to transport you into that smokey bar room where the villagers gather at the end of a day off toil. This book shows promise and I truly hope the author develops to allow that to come to fruition.
Is a good LitRPG book, a nice addition to the genre but I was not instantly hook like I was with The land, Awaken Online or Divine dungeon. So it worth the read and the cost but not an insta drug !
I went into this book kinda expecting an American version of Sword Art Online, And while it did have a similar concept, this was so much more intense and scary then SAO that it doesn't deserve to be compared to the anime.

What really took the stage for me though was the characters, the fact that the main character was not Mr. Perfect Pants was quite interesting to me, I actually found that I did not like the main character for the first ten or so chapters. I hated him for his decisions, and all the other characters followed the same pattern, because this is not a story about a bunch of perfect people, these people make mistakes, don't always act like their best selves, truly are just just normal people trying to figure out how to handle this situation.

So in my opinion the characters are the best thing about this book, and I now I'm going to start book two, can't wait to see all those guys again.

Great job Mr. Broody, I gave this a strong 4 outa 5 as it was one of the better books I've read, definitely was a fun ride!
I really enjoyed this book, the story flowed well and keeps you entertained. There were some grammatical errors but the biggest problem for me was the font size of the character sheet, very small and on a grey background. For a litrpg book it would be nice if you could read the character sheet without having to squint over the top of your glasses to barely read the sheet. But all in all I can recommend this book.
Not a perfect book by a long shot but when compared to most of LitRPG out there it definitely stands out as one of the better ones.

Reasons it did not get a 5 star (within the LitRPG genre) rating is due to the MC having a hidden luck stat of 1000, the underdeveloped (not thought out) economy considering the main purpose of the virtual world that should work for quite some time in the future, unbalanced combat/magic system (e.g. the damage ratings on the weapons and spell descriptions do not seem to behave consistently with the explained world mechanics), etc.

Anyway.. worth a read. Helps that the author seems to be a native speaker.
There's a lot to this book that I loved and a few things that I really didn't love. This is my second LitRPG series that I've read, so I'm still exploring the genre. But from a critical point of view, I'll do my best to give you all an unbiased review as always.
First, let me say that this book was very nearly a 5 star review. But I don't round up, so a 4.6 is a 4 star review.

This was a good beginning to, what I hope will be, a good series. The plot was good and the story wasn't too bad either. I absolutely loved the characters, but I'm hoping to see some character growth and development in the next books (they were pretty stagnate in this one...but it's only the first book). Spelling and grammar...I'll have to go back and check, but I can't remember any headache inducing areas where I'd feel obliged to pull out my red pen.

Now that's out of the way, let me say this (WARNING, RANT IMMINENT)
This book went from meh, and me being about to return it, to interesting really quick. You have to stick with it and give it a try. If you don't like it by the end, then return it and forget all about Eden's Gate. (RANT TIME) My biggest complaint about this book would be the status read outs. I know this is only my second series in the LitRPG genre, but you don't need to read off everything every single time. I just wanted to skip over that read out every time it came up. The character is going in to check one status, so read out only that one status. Whenever I play MMOs I don't bother looking at all my stats whenever I go to check them, we don't need to know that, we already know that. Tell us when they go up/down, or when the character checks it again.

Despite that one headache inducing part of this series so far, I am looking forward to the next book. I'd recommend this book to those of us looking for a new LitRPG adventure, or really anyone who enjoys a fantasy adventure. It's not epic (or at least, I wouldn't call it one), but it's not bad either.

P.S. I'd totally go to Eden's Gate.
P.P.S. Make full dive VRMMOs a reality.
